2018 Ford Focus RS Gets More Gear in Last Model Year Before Generational Update

It’s hard to imagine a better Ford Focus RS. After all, its combination of a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, all-wheel drive, active torque vectoring, and street legal, track-ready driving modes put it miles ahead of the competition. But since an all-new Focus is debuting in 2019, the 2018 RS will be the last of the current gen. To send it off and make room for what will be an even more impressive next-gen model, the Blue Oval is giving it the special edition treatment.

The 2018 Focus RS will come with two new colors—Nitrous Blue and Race Red—and equipment that was once optional, including the RS2 package. The biggest addition is a limited-slip differential being added to the front wheels, which will work in conjunction with the dynamic torque vectoring system in back to refine power delivery, decrease wheel slip, and bolster lap times. While this won’t change the power output, it will put more of those 350 ponies in play when you push this impressive hatch to the red line.

We would be thrilled to introduce you to the Focus RS, but be forewarned—only 1,000 units will be available in the U.S. for 2018. If this car is on your radar, contact our Ford dealership in Atlanta, GA to learn more before the books are full.
